I just pulled an 8.5 from one of my cars(actually, a spare frame I have lying around)-from 92 caddy brougham
but, it's going in an 82 caprice, no abs.. there is a sensor that if I'm not mistaken is for abs on the "snout" of the diff. I was wondering if I had to buy gears for that rear, with that sensor pickup, or if I could just plug the hole, or unplug the sensor harness and be fine with "other" gears

thanks for any input...

sensor

just unplug the sensor. no need to put anything in the hole. it is inactive when unplugged. all this does is create a magnetic pulse to the abs system. don't worry about it.

i was just wondering about plugging the hole vs just un plugging the sensor, all i really needed to know was if the pinion was the same on an abs vs non abs rear end- i will not be using abs
