ok i think im going to pick up a new set of rims for my 82 ponty grand prix.
do new rims need to be balanced?
the rear rims im looking at are 8 inchs wide and the tires i want to run on the rear till i get some new tires are 215/65R15, suggested that 225 is the smallest tire for the 8 inch wide tire, is it fine to run the 215 or will somthing bad happen?
for backspacing and offset how do these look?
Front Rims:15 X 7, Back Spacing 3.75 INCHES, Offset -6MM,-.250 INCHES
Rear rims:15 X 8, Back Spacing 3.75 INCHES, Offset -19MM,-.750 INCHES
i want the rear rims to stick out farther since the wheel wells are pretty wide.
the rims i got right now are 15x7 with 4 3/8 inch backspacing and the front rims rub on the upper a-arm when the wheels are turned full(metal shavings all over!) and the rear tires have about .25 inch of clearnce to the frame with 215/65R15 tires! not to good.
