My wife and I worked at a powder coating company for nearly 4 years and the owner came in today and ask us to come into the office an told us he was going to let us go, no hard feelings. now I can work on my hot rods full time an get a part time job. I've been working to hard anyway. I just wish everybody could be this happy.

So happy you could cry?? I can't say I'd be happy if I was laid off, even if this job IS holding back my career as a Male Escort to rich, older ladies.
I just keep pluggin away at this job until something better comes along that's closer to home AND pays better. That's why I'm still here. :(

Good luck with the time off, & hope all works out.

This is very suspicious...correct me if I'm wrong, but is this what happened?

You work at a powdercoating plant and you're a hot rodder. You also happen to be a Johnny Cash fan. You put 2 and 2 together and next thing you know your taking your hot rod parts to work in your lunchbox and in your breaks or when the boss is not around you start powdercoating it. You powdercoated your hot rod one piece at a time, and it didnt cost you a dime. But the frame, ohhhhhh the frame. It was too big for the lunchbox. So you went in on a Sunday when the plant was closed with the keys you got from the keyholder by doing him a favour and powdercoating some stuff for him. However you got caught that sunday, and now your fired. But your happy cause now you can build your powdercoate hot rod!

Or he could start his and her's own Powercoating Company with the expertise learned and put the old boss out of business.. :) I've seen pretty similar a couple times. And not necessarily on purpose.

It's obvious that nissan is at a point in his life that he is ready to retire or at least semiretire....The boss laying him off just made that decision a bit easier.

I got laid off last September......I did contemplate retiring, but knew deep down, that I wouldnt be happy, as I am just quite not ready yet.....money was also a factor. Finally got a position this week, start next Monday............I've been off work too long and glad to be doing something. Nissan may or may not feel the same way in a few months.............Hopefully, monry is not the reason.

Our boss lets us coat anything we own for free as long as we ask first and don't disrupt production much. I am looking for a job cause I'm a workaholic an just bought a new nissan for christmas now I have to pay for it.
