I have a 75 nova engine inline 6 250 in my 78 chevy truck when i started it this morning there was a high pitched shrilling noise followed by a constant grinding noise while driving.Any solutions or ideas what the cause may be. The motor has 72 thousand miles on it Te noise seems to be coming from the front of the motor.

My first guess would be the water pump.

Me too. Thats usually what goes. However it could be any of the rotating accessories.
Watch your temp gauge/light and keep an eyr on water temp. and smell for anti freeze will help nail down noise. :welcome:

Me 3....loosen the fan belt and see how much the wtr. pump pulley moves.

My '74 Camaro used to do something like this. The belt on the alternator was too loose, and when I accelerated it would screech like a banshee

I would also vote on a belt/pulley
