does anybody know where i can find a list of vw b/c i have a 454 & i'm trying to find the lightest vehichle possible that will fit it thanks in advance

You don't want GVW, you want shipping weight or empty weight. Gross vehicle weight is the maxium that the vehicle will support, including the empty weight plus any passengers and cargo. For example, the GVW of a half ton pickup is MUCH higher than the empty weight.

Most specs will include Curb Weight. That's sort of like the car sitting at the curb with all fluids and a half tank of gas, ready to drive but no driver or passengers in it.
