I`m still considering the power coating of the trike sheet metal, What i want to knw is can i shoot pearl over the powder coat? I don`t know if i can get pearl white powder coat paint or not. Please advise!! Thanks !!! The trike is still along way from being on the road. (The money thing.) I don`t want to cut the neck to rake it, so am looking at angled bearing cups for the neck. 3% of rake, will make the rake and trail perfect for this trike and make it handle better. ($225.00 for angled bearing cups) Trying to locate a single left/right turn siginal switch for the handle bar. Need to buy Mustang II rear brake shoes springs and all the hard ware. I am also lookin for 14"x10" wide 4x 4 1/4 ford rims. The can only have 2 1/2 back spacing.
It looks like i will need to fabracate some sort of a idler , or roller for the chain to ride on. Other wise it will drag on the frame. Will have to have a rear exhaust pipe made to clear the new servi car swing arm frame.

I have decided to sell my 1937 plymoth project car, to fund the completion of the trike, as well as get on with my 57 Chev pick up project. I now have 77 Camaro front clip for it. Want to rebuild it with energy suspension componets prior to installing. Lookin at a Ron Francis rewire kit. That will be fun as i have never done that before. I plan to remove the gas tank out of the cab, and hang a 73 to 79 Surbuban tank under the frame. I will change out the wood bed for 1/16 sheet steel. I guess i`ll have to bring the gas tank filler up through the metal bed.
The 350 engine i have in the truck is still stong, however i will change the 30/30 duntov mech cam out for a hyd cam. Gonna run a nosiy gear drive as well. (Gotta Try it at Least once)
I have the wrong Edlbrock manifoild on it and will change it out for the new 2701 Elbrock manifoild. Trying to locate platinum plugs for this engine. I have converted it to HEI, but can`t seem to find anything other than standard spark plugs for this 1968 Camaro 350 engine. Any ideas on where to get them?

I need to get the 50k mile service done on my 98 Heritage soon. Got to put new tires on it and new rear brakes. I do it all right here And then take them out to be balanced.
I now have 6 Chev engines lined up to rebuild for veterans. I don`t charge them. They just buy the parts. I enjoy engine building.
Well i have rattled on long enough!!!

Slider, busy guy! I'm not sure if they have pearlized powder coat, I'll find my number to specialty powdercoat for you, they can do almost anything else so I would presume they have pearlized powders by now too. To answer your question yes, powdercoat can be painted over with some high quality clear containing pearl. The process is much like painting over a base coat, just a bit harder to scuff than normal. When you go to get it powderd you can tell the coater what you want to do and he might do it for you or prep it for you at least. Let me dig in my rats nest of numbers and i'll get back to you with specialty powder coatings number.

Not sure were you are, but go to a bike salvage yard and get the turn signal switch. They should have what your ailin for, I just go there sometimes to look. They have some good stuff just thrown out in a feild, if your pretty decent with bikes you can find some really cool treasures. Don't know what to tell you about the wheels other than find some steelie 14's and get them sent off to be widened. I'm usin 15x10's with a 4.5" bolt pattern on mine, GM stuff is easy to find and plentiful around here.

Been going to school so I can get my loan <img src="graemlins/pain.gif" border="0" alt="[pain]" /> , do'in my bro's scoot. Engines in the frame, tranny too, have everything on, but the front end peices and ignition system and tank of course. Mines still sitting dorment in a dark corner of the shed with a weedwacker sitting on it. Have most everything except the engine and tranny(lack of a few grand HA!) Got my paint for the T/A, lack of fund perhibit me from completion, need bushings so I can put it back together. Remodeling my bro's attic as a rec room, making some cool furniture like Corbin sells, not sure what kind of ride I'm going to model them after, but I'm thinkin. Still have cleaning to do so I think I have some time

Be back in a few with the number for you.

Slider way out'da on the right coast, I e-mailed the guy I got all my bro's stuff powdercoated by and ask about the pearl powdercoat. As soon as he's back in the office tomorrow I'll let you know if they can do it or you'll have to spray over it with some clear containing the pearl.

I gots an old crashed ford to transform into a gentle slumber type sleight for that not so needed beauty sleep, so I yack atcha later I gots to go draw some sketches.

Slider, I am a Vet of 22 years I am also 100% service connected disabled. I would like to take you up on your offer of an engine. I would like a 350 sbc if you have one. I need to find a tranny and final drive assembly also because my car has a torgue tube. I am going to use the car as a daily driver so I need a tranny that will be economical to drive. What do you recomend? 350 or Power Glide? I'll have to roam through pick n pull to see if I can find something suitable. I am going to remove the 216 cid six banger, tranny and rear end from my '48 Chebby. If you or someone else needs this complete O.E.M. drive train, it should be available in a couple of months. The engine looks rough but it runs well and does not smoke a lot after it runs a few minutes.

Gr8 48 are you a PTSD`er? Sucks!!! But i find ways to cope. What did i offer engine wise? The only thing i have of my own right this minute is a 267 v-8. The engine`s i was referring to belong to 6 different Vets.
I`ll help ya anyway i can though. I would recommend the 350 c.i. /350 auto for allmost every thing. Parts and avaliabilty!!!!!
I spent 10 years in the Navy. In 1971/72/ i was in country with Hal-3, a huey gun ship Navy squadron in the Delta. Made two back to back cruises in 73/74 of the coast, and ended up flying as Flight engineer on P-#`s. Over 2000 hrs. What did you do? I wish i was closer to you we`d go get some coffee and rap!!!

hey slider, as for the 'burb tank, i was told to rob the donor vehicle of the support straps as well as they bolt -oops, wrong frame, well, anyway, i used all-thread and shallow Uni-strut to hang it. as for the 1/16 steel bed. NOT ON THE BOTTOM!! too thin to put anything on it. Happy Zoo Year!

My powder guy said you'd be better off with liquid application. They do have some powders with pearl essence, but not what your looking for. He said that a acrylic urethane enamel or polyurethane liquid application would make you much happier than powder. It took a few days, but he got back to me, heh.
