my 350 is internal balanced,is there an advantage to having an 8" balancer v.s. 6 3/4" ? ihave put a 6500 rpm rated 6 3/4"balancer on it, motor not yet installed so easy to change now if necessary!thanks guys! jimm

jimm the 8in may hit the timing indicator that sticks out from the timing cover beware.no
advantage otherwise that I know of.

You have to cut that tab off, very easy with a hack saw, use about 32teeth blade.
It happens on 400 motors, I had to cut mine off.

Bigger damper is supposed to be good for more RPM, but if your smaller one is good to 6500, you're probably better off with that unit than a factory job.
