So i am puttong an 88 350 in my nova its a truck engine completely rebuilt to 3.25 hp and is a very strong engine. it is coming with the trany but it is a 4 speed and my car is a 3 speed. is it going to need new mounting brakets or will it fit in the old ones and also how do i change my dash cluster to a 4 speed when it is a speed dash cluster... if u can help please do.

What kind or car and what engine/transmission?

Assuming the new one's a 700R4 and the old one's a T-350, you'll probably need to shorten your drive shaft. Measure both transmissions to make sure, because T-350's came with at least 3 different lengths. You'll also need to figure out a way to address the different position of the transmission mount. The 700 mounts farther to the rear.
