hey there, my name is pete and im new here, so i wanted to say hello. im restoring a 1955 ford fairlane club sedan and will ne some help along the way. i live in maine so parts are scarce around here, and my mechanical knowledge isnt very good so im sure ill have allot of questions as time goes on. so currently i have done the suspension and i am replacing the 271 v8 with a rebuilt 312 y block and a temic 5 speed manual tranny, i had the rearend rebuilt and the the yolk snapped and i cannot find one to save my life, has anyone else experienced this problem and if so how did you fix the problem ? im thinkong at this point i may want to upgrade the rearend with a more modern one that parts are readily available for ? any suggestions of what may fit without a bunch of modification ? thanks for any help pete
