Here it is:

1. Welded in rocker panels, not compete, just tops. Car was braced inside and on frame.

2. Installing door, now no gap at rear, rubs rear quarter. No adjustment forward on hinges. All other gaps good.

3. conclusion: since pillar was rotted through at bottom I must of welded it about an 1/8 too close.

4. As I see it I have two choices. a. machine 1/16" off the hinge giving me 1/16" gap or grind off door edge to give proper gap. I know cutting through skin is a possibility.

Please help with your ideas. The car is the 1948 Aero Fleetline in pic at thumbnail. Thanks Jesse

In some situations. we have gone ahead and ground the door edge as necessary, then welded a bead on the edge and ground and finished it smooth.
