I am trying to find the mix ratio for a semi-gloss finish with Omni MTK9300 (SS urethane). I have the M148 flattening agent, but I cannot find the mixing ratio anywhere. The regular mix is 4:1:1.

You must add flattening agent to taste. I usually start at about 30%. The flattening agent takes the place of some of the paint (as it needs hardener and reducer also) I.E. 3 parts paint and 1 part flattener = 4 parts, then 1 part hardener, and 1 part reducer. Try mixing a small amount then spraying it and letting it dry, see if you like it. Add more or less to get what you want. Remember it's not an exact science. The temp, humidity, and how you spray it will change the gloss. Rule of thumb is that the faster you can make it dry the flatter it will be.

I agree with everything you said but am confused on the activating of the flattener.
Is there a paint company that says that for a particular paint?
If so I would like to see what they are using.

Reason I ask is most (good) flattener's are made with forms of Silicone Dioxide and are not reactive and it would seem now we would have a 30% over catalyzing problem?
Point me in the right direction if you would so I can check out.

DX685 PPG. I've always catalyzed it. But, I guess now that I think about it, it's been a few years, but, I think they were verbal instructions. I'm usually very precise about sticking to the TDS's, but, seems I strayed on this one. :spank:
But, I've used this ratio plenty of times for several years and it's always worked. So, I'm only giving advise from experience.
