i have a set of 487x heads. i am building a motor, it will have 9.5 compresion ratio. will the stock heads work with a comp 292 magnum with .501 lift will they work with this head? or will i need to have the guide cut down.

It should work just fine. However, sure isn`t the best head for the application.

i know i dont really have alot of money to dump into a set of aftermarket heads

i allready have the cam in a short block but does the guides need to be milled down or do i just have to check them just to be safe? and whats the max lift i can run on these heads before the guide need the be cut down

will need to use 1.5" diameter springs which will require a spring seat machine job.

will also require screw in studs. Press in pins will pull out.

need at least 0.050" clearance between the oil seal and the retainer.

10:1 cr min, 4.11 gears, 3000 stall is what compcam recommends.
