This particular plug came out of the #2 cyl. (see pic.) The rest of the plugs dont have this wet spot, let alone this much --what looks to be detonation on it. Whats up with this cyl.? Wet spot and a lot of piston balls surrounding it.

Yea the little balls...Is that piston Jizim?.I do have a slight miss at 3000rpm then it goes away. I had -, bad advanced timing long ago(to far advanced)..I tromped on it and had a slight -ping- so I droped the timing down and it got better. I decided to check plugs and saw this.

Are you using a gas octane booster ?
Looks like deposits to me and those can cause some problems.

Yes I am using octane booster. What kind of "deposits"are these?What kind of problems does this cause? Some of the other plugs have deposits on them but not as much as the 1 in the pic.

The deposits are from the octane booster.
Stop using that brand for one thing and the deposits get hot and ignite before the spark plugs do. You should know the rest.

I used that stuff in the Vettes, and it made the stains too..

Go to a better brand...

BTW, the stain is Booster, the balls look like past detonation...

Its new Prestone 0 to 60 in an orange bottle. What do you mean by past det.? That crap stays in there or something? Thx.

The aluminum balls are from detonation.You need to find out why that cylinder is detonating.

What I meant about "Past Detonation" was , since you say you reset your timing, It shouldn't be detonating anymore...

One other question is why do you need the octane booster.
What compression are you running ?
The balls are from the junk thats made in the formula for the booster.
Change the plugs also.
Try some Marvel Mystery Oil instead of the booster, it does the same, only better.
