So I guess this is where I introduce myself. Hello! I have an '86 GMC C1500 and am currently in the process of building a 350 for it. Just picked up an engine from a '75 C20 with 88k miles, planning on doing a complete refresh with new bearings, seals/gaskets, along with upping the compression with a thinner head gasket and throwing an edelbrock performer intake on along with a comp xe262h cam.

Welcome aboard! That '73-'87 GMC/Chevrolet square body has always been my favorite truck. Superb!

Welcome, I would recommend getting a newer block say 92 or so, reason being it is ready for a roller cam and one piece rear main seal. Main reason is main flat tappet cams have been of very questionable quality.
Also new heads would be another big improvement over heads on that engine in both power and efficiency.

Just sharing knowledge in case your looking for a little more power. Both items will be money well spent

Yeah, I've been debating on going for new heads. I think it's the way to go.
