Welcome Marty. Don't feel bad about not knowing where to start. I've seen a lot of rat rods lately that look like the builders didn't know where to start, or where they were going. You've got to make up your mind what "style" you want -- T bucket, Model A, 40's pick up cab, etc. -- and design around that starting with the frame. What say you?

What about this

I know of a i think 46 willys pick up truck but its rough as hell, is anything willys popular as a rat rod??
Welcome to Hotrodders.....there are no rules so build it like you want it. Just be sure to make it safe though. :welcome:

Sounds like a good choice to me! Don't concern yourself with what's popular. Since a large part of building a rat rod is using what's available to you at reasonable cost, if the Willys is, then go for it. Like Henry says, build it safely using the skills you're confident with, and getting some help with the ones your not. You won't be very popular if you put an unsafe vehicle on the road no matter what it is.
