Hey guys, newbie here. I have a 23 T-Bucket with a blown small block 350 with dual 4 barrel carbs. In a matter of about 24 hours my idle rpm in park have gone up to 1500. When cold the idle is normal, after she’s warmed up rpms will stay at about 1500 rpm in park. I’ve checked for vacuum leaks but couldn’t find any. My knowledge is pretty limited. But if you have any ideas, let me know. What should I check next? I doubt it’s the carbs because they would have both went out of whack at the same time.

Did you check to see if your choke is opening all the way? Your idle adjustment screw rides on the fast idle plate when choke is on when it opens it rides on the smaller plates which slows the idle down.

Check your distributor weights.
Missing or very light springs will let it increase in idle like that.

Have you taught the ‘little one’ how to speed shift yet?
