Hi all,
I registered a while ago but I've been just reading and learning from you all for now. I live in Trinidad & Tobago in the Caribbean; a couple islands next door to Venezuela. We're tiny but with a booming petroleum economy. At present, we supply about 70% of the USA's natural gas imports.
I'm in the process of buying tools, organizing workshop space & building a temporary DIY spray-booth (timber/plastic/filters/intake fans) to restore three project cars... all Japanese performance iron... no American muscle I'm afraid. They're scarce over here.
The Project cars are all Mitsubishi models:
1) 1999 Lancer Evolution 6 RS2 (4wd / 276 bhp transverse 4 cyl / turbo / intercooler / 5-speed)
2) 1996 Lancer 1800 GSR (4wd / 205 bhp transverse 4 cyl / turbo / 5-speed)
3) 1984 Lancer 1800 GSR (rwd / 158 bhp in-line 4 cyl / turbo / 5-speed)
The first one up is a complete DIY rotisserie restoration: (making the rotisserie too.)
1984 Lancer 1800 GSR (JDM): rwd / 5-speed / rear LSD / front strut / rear live axle.

1) Chassis: DIY Rust repair / body work / Stitch welded chassis /
_________ FoamSeal urethane A, B & C-pillars and box-sections / Media blasted / paint job.
2) Suspension: Starion gas-filled front struts / GAB rear gas-shocks
3) Brakes: Front:_11.75" Brembo rotors, 4-pot calipers + Master cylinder (ex-Evo 6)
_________Rear:__ OEM 1800 GSR rotors / Brembo 2-pot calipers.
4) Engine: OEM SOHC Sirius G62B - 1795cc / Turbo / Intercooler / 158 bhp.
_____ Proposed swap: SOHC Sirius G63B - 1997cc / Turbo / Intercooler / 177 bhp.
_____ Proposed modifications: DOHC head (hybrid) (ex 4G93 turbo) / 4G93 FI system / 4G93 turbo / Evo 6 intercooler... 235-245+ bhp estimated.
Should take about a year...
BTW 1st question. Can I use soda as the blast media in an Eastwood/Harbour Freight 100 lb pressure blaster?
I've read that soda may not be suitable for regular DIY blasters. They say it uses 3-4 times more soda. Advice and suggestions please.
