Ive got a stock fuel pump feeding the 600 Edelbrock on my 355, and I think its running rich at idle, spitting some black out the tailpipes. I tested the fuel pressure and it was a bit high at 8 psi, could this be part of the problem?
thanks

Yes, Edelbrocks don`t like over 5 psi fuel pressure. Fuel pressure can be effected by many things, if your pump has a return line and it`s blocked off or plugged this will cause a rise in pressure, if the gas tank vent that used to go to a carbon canister is blocked off and there is no vented gas cap, this will cause the pressure to rise. If your dealing with a vehicle that has neither or don`t care to resolve the issues, then just get a fuel pressure regulator.
