I'm remiss in not having mentioned Pro Antique Auto Parts until now. Their full-line catalog lists thousands of new parts for General Motors products from 1929-1964. Top quality merchandise at fair prices, and they claim to ship 95% of all orders within 24 hours. Call them at 1-860-623-8274 from 9 to 5 Monday thru Friday, Eastern time. or write to 50 King Spring Road, Windsor Locks, CT 06096.

RBs Obsolete Automotive, 1-800-426-6607 specialize in early GM parts. They list sedan trunk hinges for 38/39 Chevys @ $49.95/pair. I dont' know if Pontiac and Chevy had the same design on the hinges but there is a good chance it was a 'corporate' part. I know their '36 Chevy door handles are identical to my original '36 Pontiac door handles. Regardless even if they are a little different, unless you are building a 100-point concourse restoration, the Chevy units will likely fit and no one would know except the restoration freaks.

the 39 chevy hinges were mounted externally and the pontiac was mounted internally. how ever you could go with buick hinges from a 38-42 they are almost the same (1 hole is about a 1/4" off)
