I currently have an edelbrock 600 cfm on my 327 and when I floor it opening up all 4 barrels, it bogs for 2-3 secs and then starts to clear out. Is my carb the problem, or is the engine getting too much fuel to burn. Also, my friend has a holley street avenger 570, would I get better performance from that- its another 100+ dollars in summit compaired to the 600. thanks

The problem you are having is that the engine is getting too much AIR and NOT ENOUGH fuel to burn, so it bogs. Check the float level, too low can cause this, and check all the carb adjustment settings, richening the mixture screws may help. You may need to get an Edelbrock recalibration kit for the carb so that you can change the jets, metering rods, etc.
