Anyone know why there is a hole in the rear of the secondary area for a shooter on a Holley 3310-2?

It's identical to the front shooter hole. I checked my 3310-3s and they don't have it. This is a vacuum secondary. The only thing I could think of is that the body might have somehow interchanged with a double pumper, under a different list #.

I would think they just used the body on two different carbs, and just passed up drilling the secondary for vac carbs.
