I am curious as to how thick a steel firewall should be vrs an aluminum firewall. I was also toying with the idea of sandwiching some DynaPad or Lava Mat between two pieces of aluminum to make the firewall. Any thoughts?
making a sandwich looks good on paper..not sure how well it would work in practice..steel firewall is usually 20 gauge and aluminum is about 1/8 inch in most I have seen..Applying the dynamat and padding works fine for most guys..
