Hi Guys;New member here. I'm having a problem getting my F100 pickup hood painted the same on both sides. I'v searched the old posts, but couldn't find the right answer.
Here's what's happening;I live in a remote area with only 3 bodyshops and 6 guys working from their own garages. I would like to have my hood finished and painted on both sides. I'm going to install a reverse hood hinge and I want the inside of the hood to look as well as the outside. I'm having this fellow paint my entire truck dissassembled, piece by piece, and then reassembled. He tells me he can't guarantee that the underside will look as good as the topside. He pointed out to me that there are some ripples and dings that if he was to use filler and smooth it out, that it may crack because of the stresses applied to the hood and the excessive heat from the engine. I find that hard to believe. I've seen some real nice hoods painted on both sides at the F100 Nationals.
Any suggestion will help.
Thanks in advance
