I just had my driveline rebuilt and mod'd for a TH350 (in a '64 Impala). The slip yolk only goes onto the output shaft of the trans an 1" or MAYBE an 1 1/8".

Am I at risk of causing some damage??

Thanks in advance....

OK, searched a bit more...... I think I need to take the shaft back for readjustment :smash:

It is a drivesahft yoke....... not yolk

good luck , sounds like you are getting the drive shaft length corrected

I just dropped a drivshaft off to be shortened and balanced. The yoke had wear marks on it from the output seal, just enough to tell where it sat. Slip it in to where the seal rides and measure from center of u-joint to center of u-joint (i had to measure from center of front u-joint to u-joint saddle on the rear then subtract 1/2 diameter of the u-joint cap to get center to center).

You need a least 2/3 of the" YOLK" inside the tailhousing.
