Jon's free credit report made me think of this. I get on average, 4 "Pre Approved" junk mail credit card offers between my business address and home address a day. How many do you get?

I usually get about one a moth addressed to me and maybe one or two that aren't, which is surprising since I have a credit card which I use regularly.

I used to get about a dozen a week. I started filling the postpaid return envelopes with garbage mail, sometimes a few pennies, sometimes about 20 pieces of scrap paper with "no thanks" written on the top. They pay the postage. Now I get 2-3 a week. Coincidence? I don't know. Dan

I do that too! I get my mail in a PO box down the road, junkmail slides into the mail slot sooo easily

Dinger,you ROCK!!!!!!!!I get at least two a day and my wife gets at least two a day.I always break them and shread the paper.I think I will start returning a nice printed picture or something on them in their pre paid postage envelope.:thumbup:

Gee never really thought about it till you brought it up.

For both businesses and for all the employees that have company cards, I have the bills come to my home office.

Because of that all the great offers of higher credit and free cards
come here also. Don't know how many I get a day but would guess at least one everyday and I know there have been days where had a 1/2 dozen or so.
Never open them. I just put in shredder.
I'm watching a little closer now before I shred as last year I shredded a bill from Capital-one card, now that is an eye-opener!
It was like $35-50 late fee plus interest and on top of that they charged me interest on all purchases made for next month until
I got the statement and could pay off. The bad part is this account has 3 cards for 3 different people so its a $7,000 balance a month. That mistake cost me big!
I'm willing to bet that simple mistake cost me $500 when all said and done.

I think it also has alot to do with your credit rating. I think if you have a good rating they try to send you enough cards to destroy it!!!!! I think on a average between my shop and home i get 6 to 10 a week, Or at least is seams like that...

I thought about returning one of them in my dogs name just to see what they would do?????

Don't do it Keith, before you know it your dog will be out of control buying every dog toy he can get his hands on, going to doggy porn web sites, just bad stuff. Dogs just can't be trusted with a credit card.

Thanks for saving me, I almost messed up there. I wasn't thinking about all the damage a 1 year old male rottweiler could do with a charge card........ I got a mental picture of coming home and seeing him laying paws out on his back atop his new water bed ( that he just got air overnight from the home shopping club), with some Young lady rubbing his paws ( from some beverly hills dog groming company), and another feeding him liver treats ( that were also air over night from www. livertreats.com).

I think he would be ok with the porn sites because he has been fixed but i am sure it will be replaced by him surfing for some super delicous chew toys!!!!!with him probably a new nathen hale $5000.00 couch..... Also air overnighted to him!!!!!

Killer ,,, man i busted out laughing at that site, I bet my boss wonders what is so funny???? I am going to do that for a week or so just to see what happens... Man i am actually wanting to find one in the mail today!!!!!!

I get usually about 10 pre-approved emails a day, 4 or 5 a week in the mail...ugh...I hate junk mail.

I fold up the OTHER credit card offers and return them to their competitors. Nothing like paying to receive junk mail from your competitor! Citibank gets Capital One, vice versa. Gotta love it !

I stuff 'em with other companies junk mail then mail them.

I get about a dozen a week. I have answered a couple on the phone. The preapproved stuff is a lead on. Usually I do not qualify for the smoking deal I seem to have been preapproved for but I do qualify for the one with a monthly service charge, small credit limit and 24.9 percent interest.
Now I open them all at the post office and cram everything back into the return envelope and send it back to them so they can pay the postage on it again. If I have any other junk mail I can cram in the envelope I do that too.
I have heard some people box up a brick and tape the envelope to it.
