how to ship "parted out" parts ??

I have a 1989 Ford Mustang convertible that I'd like to part out. I'm keeping the 5.0 motor and AOD transmission. How do you send to others ... doors, body panels, trunk lids (big parts) without having them damaged, and not costing more than the price of the part itself? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

You'll have to build a crate. The shipping company I usually use doesn't charge by size, but weight so just build a crate around it with some 1x4's staple or tape a cut up box around it and wrap the part in 1-2 laters of bubble wrap and your good to go. Or you could just go to any place that receives alot of sdhipments and try to score some free air pack packaging to stuff around it. reguardless build a crate or use a very thick sterdy refrigerator type box.

Know of any woodstove-fireplace insert stores around your area? I work in one for the winter months, it's amazing the different size packaging we get, almost all heavy duty, the owner tosses all of it. Shipping isn't going to be cheap for most parts, try selling locally first. Dan
