Can you provide a picture or manufacturer of the tool?

Most hand rivet tools have a small and large rivet "nail" nosepiece. The key to successful riveting is keep the flange of the rivet held solidly against the material while pulling the nail to "POP" it.

Was watching that "Horsepower TV" show on Sunday....That Joe guy was trying to use a hand rivetter.........Couldn't even squeeze it...........whimp... ain:

Also make sure the hole you drill is the same size as the rivet, a sloppy fit will cause a loose joint and difficult to squeeze to pop the rivet. Maybe that's what Joe did... Buythe guy some of those squeeze handles to build the muscles in his hands. Dan

I saw that and thought the same thing.

Stainless POP rivets will react that way if using a hand rivetter.

Could be that's what they were installing the panels with.

I've got an air operated one too. It seems to set the rivets more solidly than the hand operated ones. It sure makes the job go faster too. Mine was made by Dayton.
