For a fendered car, the ideal situation is a 56" rear, and 3" backspace. This will give you about 1" between the bulge of the sidewall, and the inner wheel well. This is important on a highboy so the tires have that 'tucked in' apperance.
On the other side of the tire, a 7" wheel will be just under the lip, and an 8" will be flush, just on the edge of hanging out.
So if your rear is 60", you will need 5" of backspace in your wheel.
