i have now broke 4 hub assemblys

after breaking the 3rd hub i replaced

upper/lower ball joints
upper/lower control arm bushings
tie rod end

i started out with the cheapo "house autozone hub" my 4th hub was the best i can buy from autozone

i am running maximum offset rims with 31x10.50 r15s

the only thing i can think is left is something wrong with my CV axel with the nut fully tightened on the hub there is maybe 1/4 of play in the hub assembly

just looking for advice or if anyone else has had the same problem everyone just tries blaming my tires when before this i had a 94 running 33x14.50 on maximum offset 12 inch rims with 1 inch wheel spacers and never broke a hub in my life i had the truck for 500k miles

There should be no play in the axle. The axle is what holds the hub together so it should be tight. Most hubs are made in China now so theres the first problem. Try to find a better brand somewhere else. Find out why the axle is not tightening up correctly.

Yep, I try to suggest using the brand name hub assy's every time.

Sure the offshore stuff is cheaper, but you'll never get much representation or consideration from your suppliers manufacturer ... and in a case where you've had 4 failures, it would be nice to have someone to ask for help. Not necessarily "free parts" ... but at least the benefit of their expertise and advice.

I checked that application and the correct SKF (NAPA) part # is BR930346.

I have attached a screen-print of the available dimensions from SKF's online catalog.

Your first 3 were Duralast #DL515024 , and the last one was Timken #SP550307 ... correct?

Timken is a well-repected mfr, so if that is the correct PN, I'd ask Autozone to call the tech line on your behalf, and ask them if they've had any issues ..or ideas?

yeah your right kinda first one was gm stock then 2 duralast now a timken broke

Another thought ...

Another thought occurred to me.
1988-1994 K1500 used a different hub assy. (BR930094)
It's not uncommon to see a "carry-over" from the old part into the following year.

GM uses the term "first design" and "second design" on occasion.
