Hunter 731 balancer - asking for help

Hello Members,
I just came across this group :),
I own Hunter 731 balancer, which I occasionally use (and most likely misuse), since I never had a manual for it. It has never been calibrated, and recently the upper meter stopped working. It is not the meter itself, but without diagram, I can't troubleshoot this problem any further. I will really appreciate any help with technical information (user, calibration or service manual) for this model (731), or any other from the System 700 family.
Thank you in advance,
Andrew

Many thanks Mike for your prompt reply.
I don't have enough posts (yet!) to send a PM.
Please kindly find my email in "Public Profile/Contact Info".
I truly appreciate your willingness to help.
Thank you again,
Andrew

I would like to receive a manual too!

I have a German Schenck ASG Rapid, but it is identical to a Hunter System 700 balancer. It was also sold as Wheeltech(?) and GM Hunter. Schenck is really high-end stuff used for balancing turbocompressor spools, aircraft turbine fans and high-speed milling holders.

Just signed in here, but I am actually into US classics.

If there would be anyone who could measure the height and diameter of the balancing weight is would be great!

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Willem

70 Cougar,

Did you also have an exploded view with parts numbers?

Cherish those balancers. Mechanical they are as good as anything on the market nowadays. But I guess ergonomics did their role in putting them out of fashion.

Willem

Would someone be kind enough to send a copy of the manual to twoworld_dude “at” yahoo.com

Thanks!
You asked for a copy in february 2013 ... 70 Cougar posted that he sent a copy to your listed email address at the time?

I think 70 Cougar is still around with the paperwork.

I know.. :[ unfortunately I misplaced it. I’ve looked everywhere and cannot find it. I emailed him again but didn’t get anything back.

Mike B. came to the rescue and got me a copy of the manual.

Now..I have a question that may be dumb, but I cannot figure it out just by looking at the manual.
They list two reference lines in the manual for weight positioning.(see attached). Is the reference line on the shroud meant to be used for the upper plane only? And if so, does the weight have to be placed on the side of the wheel closest to that mark?
Would that mean that the lower reference line(right under the spindle) is only to be used for the lower plane? And would the weight be placed on the side of the wheel closest to the operator?

I may be overthinking this but if anyone has any input, it would be greatly appreciated.

Is there any chance one of you kind folks would send a copy of the owners manual for the Hunter System 700 balancer my way? I have searched everywhere for this manual and can not locate one anywhere, but it appears a few people on this forum may have a digital copy. I would love to be able to use my recently acquired balancer! Thanks! [email protected]
