I am getting fuel.

Getting a faint spark (fires every few seconds or so)

I set the timing and was able to get the motor to fire a few weeks ago, since then, I have put the new tranny in and got the thing drivable.

I have an accel distributor with a super coil set up.

Any suggestions?

I am getting 12v to the distributor, the only thing I can conclude is that something in the distributor is bad???????????

i disconnected the tach wire from the distributor, and the motor fired. Would the be cause by a ground or could this happen if the tach wire was touching the 12 volt switched wire?

Could be either, or a bad ground or internal short on the tach itself causing the tach to back feed the distributor.

thanks, i'll check out the wiring first, i mounted the tach inside the gauge cluster of my el camino, so it is difficult to access
