I have a 72 chevelle and replaced the ignition switch. When I replaced the switch it would not go to the locked position. Is there a secret that I don't know. I did it as the book said but it will not go to locked. I bought a column at a swap meet out of a 69 chevelle that was locked but had no key. I had a locksmith make a key, but he removed the cylinder to do it and now it will not go to lock just like the one in the car. I guess there is a trick that I do not know about, because I know someone out there has replaced a lock cylinder on a chevelle and had it work. I would like any help anyone can give me.
