Well, I have now crossed over to the "other side". Most of my driving life was as a "ricer". I stopped the "fix" a while ago to focus on other things, however, its been in the past couple of years as I would start purchasing HotRodder instead of Sport Compact Car - slowly but surely......Now I am married and my car "fix" can be fed again. So to start - 54 Pontiac Cheifton. Just bought it - getting it on Nov. 13th. Worn down from the years, but complete - even with the mirrors, glass and the straight eight still in. A simple start to learn. Please, I need all advice I can get, for it is free - but ignorance is expensive.

If I remember correctly, the Pontiacs and Chevys of that era shared some parts. There's at least one '53-'54 Chevy guy on the board.

I have noticed that. I guess it was like how Mazda and Ford are now. But as all beginnings go - the hardest step is the first. Just a little overwelmed right now. Hey, thats part of the fun though.
