Have been thinking about using an s10 instrument panel in my 36 chevy. My question is: will the tach from a v6 (4.3) work and be accurate when used with a tech 4 (2.5) ?? The engine, tranny, and computer are out of an 88 s10. The Dash panel is from 97 s10. OBD1 and OBD2

I don't think your tach will read right. I have an old Medallion tach from the 70's, it has a switch to convert it to a 6 or 8 cylinder. There might be a way to adapt yours, but I'm no electrician.

Why run a stock gauge cluster anyway? Costs? I'm thinking aftermarket gauges would be easier to hook up and get right. Never seen a stock late model cluster that would like right in an older car like your 36.
