Hi

Now im nearly finished with head swap with shiny new heads I cant put my grubby intake on, what do you guys clean the alloy intake manifold with? Will shot blasting hurt it?

Call your local bigrig shop. Ask em for some aluminum brightener. Its basically an acid you spray on and scrub with a bristled brush. Then hose off. Then have it powdercoated. Powdercoat is baked at 400 degrees or so

Now for the fine print:

You must use the heavy rubber gloves, not latex
You must wear a breather or do this outside
You must wear goggles or glasses

This stuff is nasty, it can burn you badly, and some symptoms won't show up for up to 24hrs. It may not be legal to dispose of.

Or find a place in your area that does annodizing/plating. They'll fix you up and if you let em throw it in when they have the time and space, probably wont cost too much.
