Hello to all. I have read and followed this site for a while. Very impressed with the help, tips and braintrust that exists here.
I have been out of hotrods too long, now I have 3 grandsons and can justify the rekindled interest.
My question concerns the difference in a 49 Ford F2 and a 48 F1.
I really wanted a 48 (NSRA) but I found a nice 49 F2. I noticed the wheels are bigger (6 lug?) & I am sure the weight is more.
Are the cabs and front fenders the same size? Bed is shot...
Can I use the same type of straight axle that I was going to use on the 48?
Would I be wise to pass on this and look for the 48?
Thanks...
