351w bored 30 over, 10.1 compression,roller rockers, 200cc pro comp heads 202 intake 186 ex.68cc chambers cnc machined , isky 280 mega cam hydraulic 232 duration 517 lift. super victor intake manifold, 850 double pumper, c-6 trans, 2500 stall, tranny brake, 4.88 gears full spool, 29/10.50/15 hoosier slicks, the car weighs 2600 pounds with me in it. is there anything i need to change? what sort of ET times am i looking at?

Stall is about 1500+ rpm too low, 3600 would be about the minimum I'd use. 12.0's with what you have now, 11.50 or better with 4000 stall. Solid cam would really help too.

I also wouldn't use Pro Comp heads for anything but scrap metal, they're poorly cast, poorly machined chinese crap. a LOT of engine builders won't even touch them at all. Spend the extra couple hundred of bucks to do it right and get some quality pieces.

i agree with AP, pro comp anything are crap, but i dont think you need a 3600+stall with the cam you have, i personally would go with a 2800-3200, but that aslo depends on what your doing with the car

well i had a 4000 in it before and i ran a 12.82. the launch was *****in but the car was so slow down the track and i would come back to the pit at 220 degrees. the tranny was super hot. but the paper work on my camshaft calls for a 2500 stall or standard tranny. just confused i know the can can do better than 12.82

Something was wrong with the 4000 converter or you bought a cheap one. Any price less than $450 for a 3500 thru 4500 stall converter means you are getting junk. I've got a good 3600 stall in my Nova Th-400/406 engine, drive it 75 miles one way to the track, race it 8-10 passes in the mid-11's and the tranny temp never goes over 165°. I've got a big 8" x 11" x1 1/2" thick stacked plate style cooler(they look like a heater core) and it is a good custom converter, not B&M, TCI, ACC, GER trash. Learned my lesson after two cheaper($250-300'ish) converters.
