Ok so I found an engine shop online that's near by&I called&asked how much for a 350 long block minus the heads&oil pan&timing chain cover&they called me back&said they will bore it over.30&magnaflux&dip&hone etc for only 620 bucks they said since there doing it that cheap there won't be a warranty built he will put melt plates on the block&give me a week &there's a fut down the road that has a canadian model 350 out of a truck that runs &he only wants 300 so which one should I get?

I never heard of em either he said sine he was building the motor&selling in to me so cheap I wouldn't get a warranty but He would put on melt plates or tags maybe it was &give me a week if something brakes he will fix it long as I don't run the engine 2 hot&melt those tags

The melt plate is where the warranty is written. It's inscribed on a lump of ice and included with every mail order sale.

Im getting rid of all my small blocks and picking up a good used 454 for $300. That would personally be my suggestion.
