I just started my new crate engine (383)for the first time this morning. It is smoking at the exhaust manifold where it connects to the exhaust pipes. I assume I only need to tighten things up. No leaks present any where else.
How long should a new crate engine smoke during break in?
I assume it's just burning off like it should considering all new gaskets etc..

HI,its probably burning the oil out of either the exhaust manifold,or the cylinder head exhaust ports,. get it warm,and it will probably be ok.
