My 83 chevette runs great but lately its had a pretty nasty knock to it. It does it at idle and calms slightly as the RPM rises. What is it / How can I tell / or How can I fix it? Also, is there any way to stop valve noise? I was told I could pour ATF into the valve cover but I wanted a second opinion before I F*&^ed anything up any worse. Thanks for any help Guys!!!

My lord...a shovit lives??? Be glad you have experienced the little POS whille you were alive...not many have!! Sounds like you need a complete rebuild...rework the head and new rod and main brngs and CK the pin's in the pistons too for slop!! Don't forget a new timing chain!!!
