I am relapcing my stock bellhousing with a Lakewood Scattershield in my 65 Beaumont (has same running gear as a Chevelle). I have an adjustable ball pivot and need to know what height to set it at and where to take the measuement. Also are there any issues that I might run into. I've been told its a straight swap.

I think you can come pretty close by measuring the distance the original stud sets in from the back side "outside, trans mounting surface" to the tip of the old ball on the old bellhousing and matching that measurement. If you have a small square that measurement would be easy to make.

If you set both on a flat surface side by side they should measure the same from surface to trans mounting surface.

You might have to compensate for the difference in thickness of the stock and Lakewood plate that goes on the back of the engine if there is a difference.

The concept would be to have the new ball sitting in the same spot in relation to the clutch that the original ball did.

FYI summit offers 2 types of pivot balls.
for my application i had to order the larger one.

helped a few with this.. mabe itll help you

Thanks guys, I installed it to stock height and we'll see how it goes. I did break my clutch fork at the retainer spring though when I tried to install it. I guess I'll order a new one, maybe two.
