Hi, I was just on a Mustang forum and one thread dealt with a guy who was having suspension problems. He took his car to a shop and they told him someone had installed his springs incorrectly, left on right and right on left. I didn't know that there is a left and right. I just put new springs on my 69 Stang and they looked identical. Any validity to this? Thanks Rick Z

I can't say for sure about the cars, but Ford F100-F350 trucks from this generation did indeed have left and right coil springs. Since the engine/transmission was offset to the passenger side by several inches to clear the steering box, the passenger-side spring needed to be slightly stiffer. When the two are removed and set side-by-side the passenger-side spring is about 1" taller.
