Would you believe that after waiting 6 months to get my license back, I called the NYS DMV and they said........

"We're still doing re-applications for licenses from August. You could expect to hear about yours in the 1st week of December"

What a bunch of crap!!!

So from not driving 4/8/04-10/8/04 they want me to wait another 2 months!

I've gained 20lbs sitting in this house not being able to get out! My car is starting to smell like mildew from lack of use! I think moss is growing on the radiator and mold is forming on the brake rotors!

Is it my fault that they're behind 2 months?

This all because of 1 ticket!!

On a probationary license 3 yrs ago I got 1 speeding ticket. Suspended 60 days. Got it back 9/5/03 and it was fine until I got another ticket in the end of November 2003. a few more weeks and that 3 mos. probation would've been up and I would've been dandy!! if I had knew that there was a 3 mo. probation on my license after I got it back in September, I would've never NEVER pled guilty to that damned 84/65 ticket.... grrrrrrr

The DMV sucks.

People can drive around double-drunk and get their stuff in order in 3 months. I've gotta wait 8 months for 1 ticket.

kind of sounds like my brother......
we tell him, "don't drive fast and it won't get suspended".
what does he do? drives fast anyway.

so once again DON'T DRIVE FAST AND IT WON'T GET SUSPENDED!!

its no ones fault other than your own.
yeah, it sucks, but YOU did it.

just my opinion, not trying to bash you.

Yeah, I've had it with State Highways.......

I'm not driving any long distances when I get the damned thing back.

Unfortunatley it was due to a Winnebago I was trying to pass and then I realized it wasn't him driving slow it was 3 other cars and by the time i was able to pass all of them I was going 84 and ran right into a speed trap. I must've been behind them for about 20 minutes and finally enough was enough! they kept tappin their damn brakes so its just my luck that I decided to pass them at the exact wrong time.

Don't do the crime...

if you can't do the time!! Its not the cops, its your driving that got you into this mess. No excuses, you were speeding and got caught red handed.....DON'T SPEED! We are car guys, we have all been there...there is NOTHING you can think up to do that somebody else hasn't done and gotten caught at....so.....change your driving style and you'll stop getting tickets...end of problem!!

Ghetto... You mentioned driving without the license. In some states, that will get you jail time. Also some insurance policies will not cover an unlicensed driver.

I remember many times hearing the Traffic Court Judge here tell someone that was in there for driving under suspension, with a bad driving record, it makes no sense to drive with a suspended license. Face it, you are more than likely going to get stopped for something. The record shows that.

lol, i like this part...........

"The RMR-C 430 is completely legal in all 50 states except Utah, California, Nebraska, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Virginia and Washington D.C. This product can be made legal in all states except Virginia and Washington D.C. by turning off the scrambler feature. Since police cannot detect this product, it is the responsibility of the operator/driver to use in accordance with all state laws. "

I need to ask: Was whatever you were in a hurry for worth it? I hope she could at least suck golf balls through a garden hose.

You were stuck behind one winnabago, so you thought (this tells me you must have been tailgating him or else you would have seen the 3 other vehicles ahead of him). Then the fact that you were "stuck" behind him in the first place tells me you didn't have a safe stretch of highway to pass him anyways. Then when you pull out and commit yourself to the pass, you discover the three extra vehicles ahead of him. That's at least a good 300' worth of passing you needed to accomplish on unsafe passing area. That's also alot of lives that could have been lost. That's why you are waiting for your license. Don't meen to be harsh, but you got what you had coming.

Here is another example of why the internet makes me mad.

How many of you have done the speed limit at all times? How many of you have never excessively sped (up here it over 30KM over the posted speed)? I doubt very highly none of you have went over the speed limit.

The advocates of taking away a license for 1 speeding ticket should think before typing. If you have sped, don't write the guy is bad for speeding.

I will say this though, from the description this guy gave, he probably does deserve a heavier fine/probation. Seriously if you didn't know there were cars infront of a Winnebago, you should probably start paying more attention. But does not deserve t get chewed out for speeding alone. Up here 10 over is acceptable, I've never seen, or heard of anybody getting a ticket for going 10 over...... So really how many of you don't speed?

For those of you assume I'm a crazy driver, or advocate speeding, I don't. I have never had a speeding ticket, or any traffic related fines for that matter. I just get upset when people who, pretty much guaranteed have sped, or do speed call a guy out for doing just that.

Come on Bonuts,

There's more to this story. It all started off with its someone else's fault. Time for some personal recognition.

As for anything else, he hinted if he knew differently about the suspension...he would have lied. Great integrity there.

You mean to tell me for doing 84 in a 65 you lost your license for over two years? DWI go along with that ticket? Minors around here doing 100+ in a 55 will lose them for 90 days. And I can't see at 17, losing them any longer than until when you become 18. Hell you could have shot somebody and spent time in Juvey and been off by 18. I think there might be a little more to the story here.

Don't wear your baseball cap backwards.:p

There is only one sure cure for your problem, buy a white 4dr diesel nonturbo Jetta. Cops never look twice at it and it can't go much above the speed limit (135kph top speed:mwink: ).

Worked for me!:welcome:

Just try and pass that Winnibego with only 52HP on tap, you would have to plan ahead, get a run at at, and do them one at a time. Did I mention this car seems to be invisible to police? I've never got a ticket in it, or even been pulled over?

Can you explain this phenomena Adkart? I speed in the car as much as I did in my SHO? I noticed the car has a lead windshield tint that affects my parking transmitter range, maybe radar absorbing? The car does have a big greenhouse for it's size?

STEALTH MOBILE!

OHHHHH yea baby! You will be holding up traffic for miles.:D

I got a ticket for 74/55 two months after I got my license and received 3 months probation. I got lucky as some buddys with similar offenses lost their licenses for 6 months. Just be glad that you dont have any major fines. I got arrested last night and overall it's gonna cost me about 800$-1k. Not to mention possible community service. Just me being careless.

Ya'lls laws suck. I got pulled over three times, 125, 125, 115 I believe on the last one. Everytime the cop wrote it up to less then 100 MPH, just slightly (99,98,97). These were all in 65 zone, but at like 11 at night.

Called a traffic attorney, no points, $80 to get rid of it. I haven't gotten a ticket in about a year, which means I got the other three in the first year and a half of driving.

You guys get a suspension for doing 74 in a 55, etc? That blows.
