Solo, what are you intending on spraying the pearl on, I'll do what I can to find what your looking for. Any preticular style or pattern you want to see or just pearl as a whole? Do you still have your blazer? I remember seeing it a while ago with some custom paint and one of your little men it the window just never got around to complimenting untill now
1950 chevy truck... I'm going to do a white pearl, but not sure what hue it will be yet. I wanted to choose my color at the beginning of the project so I could do my primar's the same color so stuff wouldn't show (scratches that don't go to metal).
just curious what it may turn out as. seen tons of colors, but no white pearls.
Well actually yes you have. All pearls have every color in them, but the pearls that are predominantly one color (red, green, gold etc) are just formulated to reflect more of that colors pearl essence. If you look at alot of the new lincolns and cadillacs they use alot of pearl. My favorite is the '94+ lincoln town car eggshell mother of pearl which uses a "white" pearl. Same with the Cadillacs. White pearl over any color will give it a frosted type, well pearl look. The more you add the more frosted it will look. I like pearls, but they are hard to work with and even harder (nearly imposible) to do touchups.
well - I'll do all my own body work, and prep work. however, all my final spraying will be done by a the bodyshop here.
the guy that owns the shop here has been in business for 20+ years, and he never lacks for work. he's great to work with enthusiasts. if I park my project in his shop it's $100 a month, and then I only pay him for the actual time he spends helping me (and materials).
he lends me tools to use at home sometimes for nothing (snap on etc.). I'll let him do all my final spraying, and difficult touch up work & paint matching. it's worth it for the knowledge, and tons of time he doesn't charge me for.
