Lower shift boot replacement 64 Chevelle

Need to replace the lower shift boot for 64 Chevelle SS with 4 speed and console. Have new boot but need help on how to install. Shifter is factory with pull clip for reverse lockout. How do I get the new boot on the shifter? Any help appreciated
