I would like to drop the rear of my '69 Nova by using 1" blocks in the perches. First of all - is this an OK idea? Next, what hardware would be used? The original setup on the 10 bolt used one U-bolt and two "T" bolts. Obviously the shock mounts won't clamp up against the perches with the block in there, so what's the best way to go? Thanks.

50-Chevy pickup has it right, there should be a spring shop in any larger city close to you. You can also get new u-bolts at NAPA and they arn't too spendy. I'd take one of yours along and tell them that I needed 4 that are X" long
On second thought, check to make sure that u bolts will go straight down on the side with the T bolt you may have to do a bit of modification there.

there is something different about where the bolt holes are on the side with the T bolts but without looking at one I can't remember what. Nothing you can't work around but you may have to modify the plates with the holes a bit.

There's no problem going from T-bolts to U-bolts. My '69 had T-bolts all around (6-cylinder car), and I bought 4 U-bolts for a V-8 application from GM and used them in the same holes with no mods necessary.
