I am building up a 383 - I have a few questions regarding a new ZZ4 block which I can get for $730.

1- Will this block bolt up to my 1969 muncie M20 with not problems?

2- How much HP will this support?

as long as the bellhousing is chevy bolt pattern. ZZ4 block is a great starting place.

check into making sure you have a manual crankshaft, some crankshafts have no provision for the input shaft.

4 stud mains, with arp fasteners,is the way to go. dont forget to arp the rod bolts too. that should be tuff enough for any street driving. safe @ 450-550w/N2o fly hp and 6500rpm, which is what a hydraulic lifter pushrod engine should be ending at anyways. dont LOL

So do they make different ZZ4 blocks? 302/z28 you mention to make sure it has the proper clutch linkage ball pivot hole tapped - whould I find a ZZ4 block without this?

From a chevrolet dealer in Long Isalng, NY.
Why, is this a good price? I have not price hunted that much yet but this seems pretty average.
