When I start a fresh engine I like to hook up an extra gauge for the water temp and oil pressure in the engine bay. The oil is easily done with a tee. The water temp gauge is a pain because of the long mechanical probe, so I coil it up as small as possible, put a couple of tie wraps and place it down on the intake. Then when the engine is broken-in, I drain some coolant and remove the gauge. So here's the question. Where can I find a gauge I can screw directly to the intake and leave it there as verification to the dash gauge? Anyone use one?

look on line at Grainger or get there catalog they have several types of TI that have pipe thread fittings with a short probe on them use them all the time at the water plant very accurate and durable
