Hi Guys; I am changing my oil pump in my small block chevy. I purchased a Melling M55HV pump and S-55 screen assemb. The problem is I have a 7 Qt. pan and the screen does not go down even as deep as the stock chevy pump-screen. Should the screen be installed deeper in the pan?If so the screen is no longer flat that does not seen right. What am I missing?? Thanks for your help!

You need to buy a new pickup tube for that pan, and for a high volume pump.

Thanks for your responce, I have not found where the new sceen for the deep pan can be located. Ane help?

Where did you get the pan? Do you have a part number?
If nothing else, you should be able to measure from the pan rail to
the bottom of the inside and find one that way.

Here, look on the left side and pick your pan depth. Make sure to select a HV pickyup.
