Quick question here on milling heads.Lets say you have your heads flat milled 20 thousandths. Does that make your cam have more lift because of what was taken off the head?I had this done on the heads to my newly rebuilt 350.And I bought a rather small cam.Specs are 422 lift intake 444 lift exhaust.204 and 214 duration.But this thing idles with just a little bit of lope.Which surprised me.But it does run strong.Any body have any idea on this?

Milling the heads does not change the cam profile one iota.

You have slightly increased the compressio ratio by milling the heads, but not much.

Camshaft duration and lift is built into the cam's lobes and cannot be changed.

The only thing you can adjust is total valve lift with different ratio rocker arms.
